Languages and subtitles

We screen a lot of non-German-language films, the original language is often English.

We try to subtitle all films in German and English, but we don’t always manage to subtitle all films.

Please take a look at our film descriptions (in the programme booklet, here on the website or on our social media channels), where you will find information on the spoken languages and the subtitles.

Audio description and sign language interpreting

We screen our films without audio description or sign language interpretation.

Advertising, trailers and introductions

We do not show any adverts or trailers during the film festival.

This means that the films actually start at the screening times indicated.

We start with a short introduction before each feature film or short film block and we finish with closing remarks.

We try to invite directors or cast members to the screenings to do audience Q&As after. You’ll find information on this in the programme.

Content and content warnings

Please read the film descriptions on this website, in the programme booklet and on our social media channels and decide for yourself which content suits you.

We point out certain content in films (such as extreme violence, suicide, flashing lights, explicit sexual depictions) in our programme to the best of our knowledge.

We’ll inform you about particularly graphic content in the introductions before the films.
